History and introduction

VÚK Panenské Břežany, Ltd was established on january 1, 1998, by making of division Výzkum, informatika a zkušebnictví (Research, Informatics and testing) in Inovační technologické centrum –VÚK, Ltd ( Innovative technology center) independent that is the successor of Výzkumný ústav kovů, Ltd (Metal research institute) established in 1946 as an scientific institute for the association of nonferrous metals producents VHJ Kovohutě (VHJ metallurgical works).

Based on the decission of the general meating on September 19, 2008 our company changed the legal form from the Private company limited by shares into Incorporated company.

In these days VÚK Panenské Břeženy is angaged in following activities.

Applied research in the field of developing new alloys, technics of fabrication and machining materials and smelting plants products made of the nonferrous metals and its alloys (odkaz)
VÚK Panenské Břežany participates in solving of the projects supported by Grantová agentura ČR (Czech republic grant agency, MPO ČR (Ministry of Industry and Trade of Czech Republic) and MŠMT ČR (Ministry OF Education, Youth and Sports)
Quality control (which is a member of Sdružení českých zkušeben a laboratoří – Association of Czech Test Rooms and Laboratories), does the mechanical properties tests (static, impact strength and fatique properties tests), the methallographic analysis, the chemical analysis
Technical consulting in the area of nonferrous metals standards, machining and application of products made of nonferrous metals, providing services of specialized library
Is having status of „Center of technical normalization“ for the area of nonferrous metals (especially Al, Cu, Mg, Pb, Sn, Zn) and their alloys. This center participates in processing of new and revision of current european norms (EN) in this area both in the stage of proposal for EN and processing proposals of ČSN EN (Czech Technical Norms) for the National standartd organ ÚNMZ (Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and testing)
Operates and complements the comparative database of nonferrous metals DBVUK, provides informations about our and foreign standardized materials.

VÚK Panenské Břežany Inc. operates in the science and technology park that is in property of the Inovation and technology center – VÚK, Inc. (ITC-VÚK,a.s.).

Accreditation

The test rooms and laboratories VÚK Panenské Břežany are members of Association of Czech Test Rooms and Laboratories (SČZL) that is jurisdical person established in 1991. SČZL is part of the national organisation EUROLB-CZ, established as an partner of the international organisation EUROLAB.

Members of SČZL are the test rooms and laboratories fully satisfying the requirements specified in the Legislative of SČZL. The test room has to prove to the committee moninated by the Court of SČZL its competence in the instrumental, personnel and metrological equipment areas, manage the procedures of used testing methods, implementation of the system of a quality regulation according to the norm ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025.

Based on the inspection, after authorized by the Court OF SČZL, the licence for prosecution the quality test activity and to use the official stamp for the test rooms with the activity declared by the SČZL is executed.

The test rooms inspections are repeated every year and the licence is revalidated.
